Anybody was able to pass all memtest tests at 166FSB for this Kingston HyperX PC2700 memory stick? I wonder if this memory is any good or I just got bad lemon. I have EPOX 8K7A motherboard with AMD 761 chipset if it helps. I was able to achieve 152MHz FSB with aggressive timings. It did fail 5th test in MemTest at relaxed timing with 153MHz FSB. It did not work with 2.7V DIMM voltage. So I tested it at 2.5 or 2.6 (don't remember). It seems that memory running at 2.6V had less errors that at 2.5V.

Is this Kingston HyperX PC2700 memory any good or should I get Corsair XMS or TwinMos?

Thanks for help.

This could actually be your motherboard crapping out at the 153mhz FSB. See if you can get a friend to try it out in their board with a motherboard that supports a 1/5 divider.

I don't think memtest86 test the motherboard crapping out. It is either the memory or the cache on your cpu that can't handle it. How I know? My motherboard craps out at 156 fsb, but I can pass all memtest at 166fsb with corsair memory and my cpu.

That board does not support 166Mhz FSB. Only 133Mhz FSB

I know that FSB should be 133 but many people used it even at 180+ (don't know about stability of their systems though).

It's probly your motherboard, and my kingston 3000 goes to 194fsb w/ 6-2-2-2 timings before crapping out.

Soon I will build a new rig for someone so I will test my memory. Thanks again.

Hi,
I have a 512 stick of hyper x 2700 and a 512 stick of true samsung 2700 running
at 180fsb on an abit bd7II. Ram timings are set to 2.5,5,2,2. No problems at all.
