Dunno, but that kind of coin could buy a WDE 42" *TV* (with tuners) from bestbuy with all the inherent advantages of a store (return policy, price guarantee, &c.)

That said, the pixel density of a 37 is already borderline but at least a 42 is more reasonable for movies (36.62x15.58 vs 32.26x13.72" for widescreen).

Certainly check around for pricing on the 37 if that's your cup o' tea, and hang on for the next hot deal if necessary.

The newer W3SE should have updated Firmware which fixes the EDID headaches ailing people like me who bought the LCD from COSTCO. I haven't been too affected because I don't own an XBOX360. The LCDTV does not have a digital tuner so keep that in mind. I use mine for Computer monitor @ 6' away and it looks nice. To me it was definitely an upgrade from the Dell 2405 in terms of brightness, contrast, colors, and upscaling of 480i/P stuff.

I've actually really been thinking about purchasing one. I currently use my Dell 2407 for a computer monitor, to play my xbox360 on, and to watch TV (via a digital HD tuner box from my cable company). I'm in college, and my room isn't all that big, so the 24" wide screen is a great fit. However, I have recently started playing on the 360 a lot more. I tend to have to sit up closer to really "get my game on." I've been thinking about getting this monitor as I don't have the need for built in tuners and I've read some great reviews of the original 37w3 (asside from the horor stories about Westy CS and some odd issues).

That being said, black friday is very near, and I think I'm going to be holding off to see what's available first. I'd much rather buy something like a HD monitor/TV from a local store with a good return policy than from newegg. In all honesty, I don't think I'll ever buy any display from newegg again (purchased a samsung 191T from them back in the day). I'd rather buy one from a place where I can easily return it for minor issues should they arise. None of this "greater than 8 dead pixels to return" crap (which is why I purchased my last monitor from dell).
