I'm in the market for a new case (to replace my dependable but lackluster generic one) and I'm pretty much settled on the Kingwin KT-436. Probably one of these two: silver or blue. The KT-436 series has a decent price (cheaper than most Lian-Li), windows everywhere (which I like) and a TON of fans in all the right places. I'm curious as to what kind of fans these are (RPM's/ DBA's) and more importantly how loud the case is with all fans on?

Running my case with the side off just doesn't cut it anymore. However I don't want to have an extremely noisy case.

Does anyone have any reccomendations of this case, or any experience with it? If so, what level of satisfaction would you say you have with it (and what are your gripes, if any)?

Any info would be appreciated!

Anandtech reviewed this case a few months back. It is one awesome case and does not look 'cheap' at all. I would consider it a high end case:

I am pretty sure Kingwin has discontinued it since, but you still may be able to find it on the net. Kingwin now sells the KT-424 case, which anandtech has also reviewed.

I have the SuperFlower version of this case $109 from Directron was the cheapest place I could find it.

The fans IMO don't seem to move a lot of air, especially where the two intake fans are that pass air over the hard drives, I've changed them to something with more power to help cool my drives. I'm not sure on the specs or make of the fans, I'll check when I get home and see if I can find some more info on them. The stock fans are pretty quiet, my psu and hard drives make more noise than the 5 fans put together !

I have 4 hard drives in the rack and there really isn't a lot of room in between them to allow good cooling, I may re-drill some holes so I can I can get better air flow.

Over all I like the case, ( have the Black version) the slideout mobo tray is a delight and the whole thing is toolless with easy thumbscrews that will allow you to strip the case down to nothing if you so desire. There's plenty of room in this case, 5 hard drives rack, 4 x 5 1/4" bays and 3 x 3 1/2" bays give you plenty of room for your storage needs.
