For the past 2 years I've had this remote and I can't get it to work right. Today I tried to set it up again and I want to throw the remote, tv and computer out the window.

Configuring the remote with the software is pretty straight forward but it doesn't work.

I can give someone my logitech password and you can log into the harmony site if you want.

As far as the TV and components....I had to disconnect Anynet because it kept turning on the BD player. No mater what I did it would continually turn on the BD player. So the process to just watch tv went like this.

Click watch TV on remote. Wait for everything to turn on. Watch the BD player power on and see it switch everything to watching a blu-ray. I then had to walk over to the sound bar and manually switch it back to SAT/TV. Took about 2 minutes just to watch tv. Now with anynet off the soundbar won't sync with the tv....ahhhhhhhh help!

In the harmony software have you tried skipping the automatic activity selection?

When you go to add a new activity try the generic "Utility" one and set it up as you would if it were the "Watch TV" activity.

Ok I definitly understand your frustration as I have some issues with the harmony one and other remotes doing unwanted and unselected things.

One thing I think you can try is remove the activity comletely and remove the blu ray player as well from devices. Update the remote and then create a new watch tv activity. That way the player will not even come into play. Update the remote and then try it out that way.

My favorite tricks to get around harmony problems?

Well one problem is that often the harmony throws in some button press that messes everything up. Like when it throws the "turn on HTPC" command when I select that activity, and it turns on my Xbox 360 and turns off my (always on) HTPC.

My solution for the unneeded button press? I force the Harmony to re-get that IR signal from the source remote, then I use any random button on some old remote for a broken DVD player. It then sends a harmless signal.

The other big harmony problem, and the one more people hit, is the delays. Harmony by default has very short delays- much shorter than some electronics that take their sweet time doing things. It sounds like that is happening with your soundbar.

My solution for too short of delays? I added a devices to my harmony list that I don't actually own. I make the harmony send a button press or two to this non-existing device in between the correct button presses to the devices I do have.

Without more specific details, this is the best I can help.

Have you solved your problem yet?
I have the Harmony 700 and I like it but it is tricky to program.

Nope. I'm thinking about doing what poofyhairguy said but I don't think its a delay issue. I think its an issue with Samsung's anynet and my soundbar receiver. Maybe I have it connected wrong but its pretty fool proof.

I got my cable box dvr output going to the Sat/CTV input, the BD player to the BD input then I got a HDMI cable going from the ARC output to the TV's ARC input (HDMI 2).

Everything powers on correctly when I choose an activity. The real issue lies with the BD player. Since everything is outputted to HDMI 2 the player thinks its supposed to turn on and then anynet takes over and switches everything.

I turned off anynet and things are not being switched on correctly now.

Like I said if someone can just config my harmony account....at this point I'd be willing to pay for your services.
