anybody get 'The Darkness'?

how is it? the game does look interesting.

it's pretty fun. i went in the game not knowing what to expect (i didn't know it was based on a comic book until i read the review). but the review intrigued me, so i got it.

the storyline is good, it really drew me in nicely at the beginning.

the darkness powers seem a little overpowered to me. i tend to rely on them more than actual weapons, which could be the reason for their strength. but the powers aren't too overpowering where they make the game ridiculously easy, which is nice.

the thing that grabbed me the most is the graphics. the environments look really nice. it's pretty neat to be able to go by a tv and change the channel. i think i read somewhere that there are actual movies playing on tv, not just the clips of movies. haven't taken the time to check yet.

the loading screens are a nice change from other games too. they're comprised of the main character talking a little bit about his past and himself.

if you're a fan of first person shooters blended with some sci-fi, i think you'll enjoy it.

I have it. I think it's a great game.

The graphics are VERY impressive in this game. The production quality in this game is also amazing. It's like you are watching a movie.

The fire fights in this game are very intense, and then when you kill the guys and can eat their hearts it just doesn't get old. It's kind of like chainsaw killing in GoW ... everytime you see it, it's just awesome all over again.

My main gripe with it is that ti's farily short. I have played it in 2 sittings and I'm already more than half way done with it. I have yet to try it out online but for some reason I have a feeling the online won't work as well as the single player.

This is what make it a rental IMHO. Same reason why I didn't pick up Lost Planet. Lost Planet at least has pretty good multiplayer. The Darkness multiplayer is generally barely mentioned and described as 'tacked on' more often than not.

I picked it up yesterday and I am really enjoying it. I'm glad they decided to focus mainly on the single player and it shows. The graphics are very good, the menu is cool(Riddick had a cool menu too), and the story is interesting so far. One thing I like is the voice acting is actually good, so its not painful to listen to cutscenes or conversations in the game. The darkness powers are pretty sweet too. Overall I'm pretty happy I bought it so far its a cool game.

From IGN's review that I read yesterday, the darkness powers become pretty overpowered near the end when you get this black hole like ability.

IGNs review is trash--I'm sorry. The reviewer never even really goes into why he doesnt like certain things. Most of the people who are posting about this game are really impressed with it. I'm looking forward to sinking my teeth into this one. Should be either today or tomorrow.

Gotta finish up RE4 for the Wii first....
