Anybody Get Off On Shrooms?

Wow, those are huge. I wouldn't eat 'em though, some are poisonous. I probably wouldn't eat anything I found growing along the side of the road, actually.

Those are pretty neat! I've never run across any like that in my part of the state. We have tree ears though. They are like smaller versions of your monsters, and some Asian dishes have them in them. They're pretty good.

If you're serious about the no-grow thing, I would check the soil acidity and a lot of other things.

Or maybe the weather is just really bad?

I don't know a mushroom from a toadstool, and I for damn sure wouldn't consume them! Never tried 'shrooms either, but I may give it a whirl someday before I die... hope it doesn't KILL me! :Q

We grow a hell of a lot of moss around here and mushrooms aren't rare. Lots of squirrels, chipmunks, raccoons and skunks available to help proliferate them!

Edit: The "the no-grow thing" is due to massive shade, clay soil and the fact that those same shade trees suck up all the moisture. Our grass is pretty sparse and slow to grow. Haven't cut it for about two months now! Here's a close-up of the soil peaking through in that image. Surprised anything can grow in that!

looks like a boletus species to me. Boletus edulis is the a king of eating mushrooms. Porcini, and very expensive.

i hate mushrooms. especially on my pizza.

vile ingredient from hades....you squish in my mouth, when those damn pizza makers forget to exclude you. i spit you out, but your wretched taste remains.
