I swapped out the master cylinder and cleaned the reservoirs for my 280Z. Ordering a ignition key assembly in the next couple of days too. We cranked it up, but the hose from the fuel pump was too big and it was spraying gas everywhere, so I need to replace it too. It's still pretty rough starting, so I'll probably need to replace the cold start injector too.

My gf's parents are visiting from Japan on the 10th, so I want to get it driveable so my gf's dad can drive it. He's an enthusiast, and used to design engines for Isuzu.

All I did was wash my truck, polish up the V-Rod, and revised the plans for a house I'm working on.

Installed a glass rear window on my miata. I found it at my local pick a part junkyard for $50. :awe:

Nope. I worked and then watched the World Cup, which was sad.

Now I'm going to drive, because somehow, my car still works :awe:

I do need to pull the steering rack at some point, though.

Installed GT1 DIS SSS (BMW diagnostic software) on my laptop. Took a few hours to get it all done.
Waiting for cables (bought on ebay) so I can start using it.

Took apart the driver's side door in the Forester. Vacuumed out the broken glass from the old window and repaired the window trim. Aside from that, the auto repairs have been pretty quiet the past few weeks. I do need to replace a wheel bearing in the Forester at some point though. Not looking forward to it.

Still have my passenger headlight sitting (someone shot my car with a pellet rifle from an I-95 overpass) and new steering rack bushings. I also have to figure out why my clutch pedal pops when hitting a bump and having it engaged. I am thinking my master or slave clutch cylinder seals have failed. Both are 30k miles new. I wasn't happy with the "OEM" replacements I recieved when I installed them.

My yard looks nice though, twenty 32 gallon bags full on the roadside for trash day tomorrow and a 3' high stack of palm fronds I have to put out next time. I still have to clip my driveway hedge (40 feet of a 8 foot high hedge)...that should put me at the limit next time.

Nothing exciting.

Worked on the LS. Replaced the dead batt, intalled shock tower covers and took apart the front passenger door to tighten the speaker mounts (was buzzing with certain bass notes).

Mmmm.., rear? The big ass bolt awaits.

Good luck. I had to burn the lateral link bushings out to get the hub off the car, and then with a combination of heat, impact gun and a hammer, I was finally able to get the (broken) lateral link bolt out.

Hopefully yours won't be as seized up as mine was!

My son and I washed my car this morning. Did some yard work too. It was really nice here today.

Not bad for an 8 year old car with 103,000 miles on it eh?

Yep, right rear. It was replaced once before by the previous owners so hopefully things won't be so miserable during this replacement.

Good deal.

Work-worked saturday till 2:00p.m., but after that I was able to wash, sand, prep my car. Then today I put paint and clear coat on nearly the whole car (excluding bumpers and hood. The hood I had started to paint but accidently brushed up against it while it was wet, so I had to sand it down. I will paint it when I do the bumpers). I was just piecing it together to get a quick photo but the mosquitoes were so friggen bad that all I got was this.

Such a tease.

Worked on the front brakes on the Rambler. Tore the drivers side down, scraped and painted the backing plate and spindle. Then put it together with the new shoes, wheel cylinder and brake hose. Tomorrow the news drums should be coming in the mail. Then I can finish with the new bearings and grease seal and start on the passenger side.

Friggin JC Whitney mistakenly sent me a package and now they want me to ship back all 78 lbs of it (i.e. no pickup on their part). No thanks, reimbursement doesn't make me especially excited.

Pulled one of the rear boxes from my truck and installed some trim on it.
Pulled the injectors, did a compression check ( all good, 470~510 PSI ), and installed a set of DDP 90 injectors loaned to me. Woohoo!

I think mine was left rear...you might luck out and not have to screw around with the drum ebrake system. We had to pull that all apart on mine...after 100k+ in New England.

Well, you're right about the drum e-brake our 03 XS has rear discs. :D It still amazes me Subaru switched the Foresters over to rear drums, especially the XT models. I know rear brakes don't do as much braking as the front, but it's still nice to have the extra stopping power.

Took the bottom dogbone mount off my jetta and rebuilt the rubber components with poly inserts. No more wheel hop, smooth takeoffs and shifts, its a new car again.

Other than that, nope no car stuff. It was 102 in the shade and my garage only has a huge squirrel cage fan to move air, but moving hot air is still hot air.

Took my 76 280z on a test drive in the morning after setting the initial timing at 18* and plugging the darn "turbo lagged" vacuum advance. The car pulled nicely. No more hesitation around 2200-2500 rpms. Then the 280zx alternator blew my 60 amp fuse taking out the voltmeter light bulb. The week prior the alternator made some loud screeching noises. Drove the car back to the house with a dead alternator. I love old school cars - as long as transistor ignition unit and ECU have enough juice, the car runs :)

I had to order a replacement alternator and couldn't take the car to the Nissan club meeting on Saturday.

Spent part of the Sunday making a speaker box for 6x9s in the back.

Did an oil change and fixed a loose nut on my sway bar end link. No more annoying clunking rattle. I'm happy.

Glad I did that on Saturday too, temps are too high this week to make even remotely comfortable working conditions D:

I drove the truck with 10,000 pound trailer out to the beach last weekend to see how those injectors would work. No heat problems, it was a pleasure to drive.
Put about 500 miles on a tank of fuel after that (so far), including dozens of hard pulls on the street and a few on the dyno.
Then I had to give them back :( NOOOOOOO!!!!
