Anybody figure out how to run Flight Simulator X on..

Well I extracted the files and did a network installation. Problem is, every time I run FSX.exe (the main file), I get an error stating "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."
Are there any registry entries for this game I should be aware of? What could be causing this and if microsoft offers the ability to do a network install, how come it doesn't work?
