I was running MBM 5 on the new 1800+XP/Abit KR7A-133 combo I put together. The -12V reading turned out to be 3.xxV, which is apparently not normal. So is it that that particular reading in MBM doesn't apply to the combo I got, or that my mobo isn't grounded well (or whatever other reason)?

Thanks for any hint.

Abit provides Winbond Hardware Doctor on the CD supplied with your motherboard. I think it's as good as monitor programs get. That's what I use. The Winbond chip is on your motherboard - and the software is on your Abit CD.

I used a version of MBM with an MSI mobo. It's easy to select the wrong sense signals for both voltage and temperature. Even after identifying the proper temp sensors, there were basic disagreements in temp reading of 4C to 5C, which I forced to agree with MSI BIOS by applying MBM offsets. The only real way to discern which temp signal was proper cpu sensor was to observe temp behavior characteristics between cpu-idle and cpu-loaded. Pretty much a pain in the ass - and unnecessary for Abit boards.

MBM is just fine with a little tinkering - but I prefer Winbond Hardware Doctor.

Hope this helps!

Thanks. Unfortunately the Abit CD I got with my mobo was sort of, well, cracked. :)
I'll try to look for WHD on the Internet. I don't have temp disagreement problem with this version of MBM I'm using. The only problem I've got is this voltage difference.

Dunkster,

Offsetting MBM readings to match bios readings is probably incorrect, as you dont' know the "load" of a system in bios, whereas you can determine that in windows/mbm. Often times, BIOS are at 1/2 load, or 2/3rds load in bios.
