Anybody ever written a petition to a cable company?

I'd really like to get cable in our area. I know a few people who have cable about a mile or two from our house and I was thinking about writing up a petition and go door to door getting people to sign it. What do you guys think of this idea, and if you think it's a good idea do you have any suggestions for the wording? Thanks

I would... but unfortunately the only other service available in this sh1ty area is dialup or direcway(which sucks horribly) dsl isn't an option because we are too far away... so it seems like that might be the only option

I would... except I just got a job as an accountant and it's tax season. Since I'm living at home atm and going to be working 6 days a week i figure save the money on rent and try to get some sort of internet out here... yeah i know it would probably take them longer than the time i'm going to live here, but it'd still be nice if the neighborhood had highspeed net access that didnt' cost them an arm and a leg and in some cases a left nut..
