Anybody ever used an standalone TV tuner hooking it up to their monitor?

I have a monitor and I want to use it as a TV as well.

I'm thinking of getting this

Do they work well?

It doesn't say it has a digital tuner so it might only be analog ( = dead).

I have, and the one I got works well with a powered antenna.

The one you linked is a NTSC tuner, which will not work in the United States. For that you will need an ATSC tuner. Preferably one that outputs over DVI/HDMI or VGA, not USB.
