my dad had one when they were all the rage and they are uncomfortable and are not that great. I love cross country skiing and this is not really like it at all.

My dad has one. I tried to figure out how to use it, but I failed miserably. And that was the end of that.

I think they're great. I don't find them ackward, once you get used to. It doesn't take long either.

When used correctly, they give a GREAT workout. The people that say it is awkward are saying it becuase you have to use muscles you don't normally use all at once. That's why it gives such a great workout.

I love Nordic Tracks. I used one extensively to train cardio after my leg break my freshman year in college. They're extremely low impact and can provide both low intensity and high intensity workouts.

They certainly aren't for everyone, though. There's really nothing to compare it to so definitely try one somewhere before you buy.

Thanks for the replies. I won't risk buying over the net, unless it's a real bargain. I tend to like most forms of exercises, but I'm sure my wife won't touch either a rower a Nordic Track.

I like them, they're super low impact, there's not a lot of bouncing up and down and no sitting on a bike seat that may or may not make your junk go numb.

No they're not very natural feeling at first, but neither are the elliptical machines that everyone seems to be infatuated with.
