Three times only one time did I get hurt

First time this guy thought I ratted him out to the police after he tried to shoot someone in broad daylight right around the corner from our school. He came to a party that I was working the door at and put a shotgun in my face. A mutal friend came over and stopped him from shooting me. The funny thing was I was even scared till after the gun was moved from my face and he left. After about five min I ran home and threw up.

Second time is when I got hurt. This guy hit my sister after her and his girl got into an arguement so I got into a fight with him and broke his nose. He went and got some friends and jumped me I got stabbed in the back twice and I got 17 staples in my hand.

The last time was really stupid.. This damn fool was cheating on his girl and she found out and he thought I told her which I didn't shoot I didn't even find out till they were arguing about it. Well we fought and he pulled out a gun his girl grabbed his arm and told him it wasn't me and just like that he walked off.

Anybody ever try to kill you?

Used to happen all the time when i was in the Army. Most of the time it was "friendlies" who were the problem though, not the raging enemy hordes (at least you could shoot back in those cases). Our team routinely went overseas to train foreign nation army "soldiers," who were normally recruits who just a couple weeks before had been nomadic goat herders. One of my jobs was to babysit them. Which meant watching them like a hawk, so they wouldn't kill us, themselves, or everyone in the near vicinity. Some things you figure don't need to be mentioned, like which end of the rifle to point towards the bad guy, or why pulling the pin on a live grenade inside an aircraft in flight is a pretty bad idea, but you'd be surprised what a determined person can do when they set their mind to it.

First-off he thought I was someone else, so I was almost an innocent victim. I couldn't run...he was too close. I had just got out of a friend's car...passenger side. I was unarmed....no knife, no gun.

Well when he was right on me I grabbed his arm, twisted his wrist till he dropped the knife, and kept twisting till he hit the ground. I picked up his knife and cursed him out....after listening to his story, finding out he was drunk and I was the wrong person, and that he was a pathetic POS, I turned to get back in my friend's car. Now the POS wants his knife back. Ha! I walked over to the fence by the highway and threw it across three lanes into the median.

I learned a few lessons here....My friend had stayed in the car the whole time this was going on. Said he got scared and didn't know what to do. I never did anything with this guy ever again...some friend.
From that time forward I am almost always armed....I am not going to face anyone ever again who wants to kill me, who wants to rob me, without self-protection in the form of a knife or gun. There are too many sad stories, sad statistics out there. If I go down, it's going to be with a fighting chance.

And to you wimps who are against guns....how would you have reacted? I was big enough to defend myself against an armed attacker. What if I had been a little guy? What if I had been too old or too slow? You want to die like this? I don't.

Yep and there are thousands of incidents every year where brandashing a gun has stopped a rape/homicide etc but they never make the papers. Luckily BluFront is an able big man or else he would be dead. The anti-gun crowd will never get till they are a victim but usually it's too late for them to re-cast thier vote.

Similar thing happped to me in Inglewood on the way to a Lakers game. My brother and I stopped outside a convienence store, got some beer. When we came back to the car there were about 6 guys around the 4-runner and one on the hood. These men statred with the old "comon man give me some money" then it turned to a fight/robbery. Since we were basically kids (19and 21) and they were grown and 6 of them we got our asses kicked bad. No cops around and all the witnesses where laughing and cheering them on. Finally, somehow, I got in the door of the car while getting my face plummeld and started it. I slammed it in reverse and turn the wheel all the way going over the assailant whailng on my face. Then tried running down the others who where working my bother.. Anyway it took the cops 30 minites to get there after I called em' and I doubt I'd be alive today if I was'nt lucky enough to get in the car.. Cops and ambulance took everyone off and filed only assult charges on those guys.

Sounds like you're the wimp if you feel the need to go armed. Big or small doesn't matter.

A mentally ill crossing guard tried to run over my cousins. I was at my grandmas before school and I heard cars tires squealing and etc and my cousins ran in the house crying. I went outside and there was tire tracks, well pits but I don't know what they are called, in the grass all the way up to my grandma's porch. The DA only put the guy up for a misdemeanor, my aunt was pissed about that, but he was the son of some 'predominant' people in the community. This was the second time he tried to run over them, but they thought it he just wasn?t paying attention the first time because he just got real close to the sidewalk they were on while he was driving.

When I lived in TX, I was out for a walk and heard a gunshot near my head. I never did figure out the source. Best I can figure is some punk took a shot at me.

So you're calling me a wimp for not carrying something that could potentially turn against my loved ones? I call YOU a wimp for resorting to such a wuss option of carrying a weapon instead of learning how to defend yourself without carrying a weapon. You, my friend, are a weakling *ussy. And one more thing - "little guy, too old or too slow" even if you have a weapon, if you're "too slow" you lose. And I know plenty of martial arts masters well into their 70's who can kick your ass (and mine, admittedly) without hesitation. Don't be a stupid idiot and presume things, coward.

Some gang-bangers did a drive-by on my dad's truck while he and I were driving down 7th Avenue in Phoenix. If the bullet had gone through the door it would have hit me just above my right hip.

Not everyone is faster than a speeding bullet or more powerful than a locomotive like you must be.

Let me guess, these guys can also catch a bullet with chopsticks. You are the stupid idiot if you think anyone, I don't care how good they are, can take out an armed assailent willing to kill you if they have a gun and you just have your hands and feet.

LOL Johova's kitchen ......exactly and not everyone can be either or wants to be. The gun isn't called the great equalizer for nothin you know.

And BTW guns just don't "turn" themselves on your loved ones.

Yawn. And if his assailant had a gun, he should have done the ol' catch-the-bullet-with-his-teeth trick?

I don't carry personally but I have no problem with a trained, licensed individual carrying protection.

I was shot at. Dont know who did it, but first bullet went buzzing by my head. I hit the ground, then another went buzzing by. I got up and ran.

thats pretty much what i was thinking.

here's my story.

I had a gf go psycho once. She got a very big knife that she had been hiding under the bed. Luckily she was very distruaght and not very coherent, otherwise I probably wouldn't be here. A gun, wouldn't of helped me a bit b/c I was in my underwear at the time! :D Anyways. Don't confuse courage with willingness to carry a gun.

back in 9th grade (high school), i got into this huge fight with this guy over a girl. we wre supposed to fight after school but i ended up meeting the guy and his whole "crew/gang." lets just say they wanted me dead. they used bats, poles, sticks, anything they could find to whack me and whack me. i never knocked out, and i was being beaten on by at least 10 guys at one time. each guy had his own bat/bar/stick etc. then in 10th grade, the same group of guys came after me again. this was for retaliation that i went back after them.

also, to the originator of this post, i totally understand your "some friend." when i was in 9th grade and i got my ass beat down i have all of my boys who claimed they would jump in for me if anything ever happend. needless to say, they never jumped in or gave a push.

i used to arm myself with peppar spray, and a pole in my backpack. now i do not. if i do in the future, itll be a hand gun (legally of course)
