I had to take the WPT for a job I applied for. It is a timed 12 minute 50 question test. They told us it was pretty much impossible to get all 50 questions done in that time, and just to answer as best and quickly as we could. I am assuming a 50 would be the high score, but then they tell me that the average score is only 18, that seems low to me. Anyway I had my interview today and they tell me I got a 39. I think I only got like 42 questions done, so I guess maybe I missed 3. But they still said that was an incredible score. The highest they had seen before that was a 36, and even that was rare.

I consider myself smart, but not that smart, so I am wondering why the average score on it isn't a bit higher. Either way, I think that helped land me the job, seeings as how I actually got 1 or 2 of the questions wrong on the hands on tech test. At least thier tech guy said he was recommending to HR that they hire. I suppose for whatever reason HR could still say no. But I think that if the tech guy said yes, then I should have no problem getting the job.

It will be a nice boost in pay. I currently make 12.35/hour, with a 1 dollar raise coming august first. But I only get like 20 hours give or take a couple, per week. With this job the base pay is 11, plus 1 since I have an A+, plus 50 cents more for second or third shift(I want 3rd shift). So that woudl be 12.50, which after my raise is less then what I make now, but comparing 40 hours to 20 or so, I will be making almost double what I do now. Only thing I don't really like is thier tuition reimbusement. They only pay for one class per quarter, they pay for everything, but only 1 per quarter. But then again working full time,I am not sure I will be able to take more then a couple per quarter. I kinda wanted to go back to school and get my degree. And I know many of you leaned that way when I was asking about the calltech job, but I could use all that extra cash right. Tough decision.

i had to take it once when i was considering to purchase a Subway franchise.

i finished all 50 questions with time to spare and to my knowledge got them all right (although im sure thats not true).

Subway doesn't receive the score from Wonderlic, they just get a pass/fail mark compared to a preset standard.

i passed.

*edit* wait a second, are there different wonderlic tests? mine had nothing to do with personality, it was kinda setup like the SATs. One 25 question section was on math and the other section was verbal.

desk, I think there are differant ones. Mine had several differant types of questions, some about math, some about english, etc..

They call it a personality test, buts it actually more like an IQ test.

I hear that a great score for an NFL player is in the high 30s. I think Alex SMith had a 38 but Im not positive. What's a sample question like? Ive always been curious.

Yeah thats pretty much how hard it was, some of thos esample questions where actual test questions. I know the one about the shapes was, and the rest where on there, but worded differant or used differant numbers for the math ones.

First, there's more than one personality test out there... and infact, there's probably thousands of different ones.

Second, the absolute score on a personaliity test means absolutely nothing. It's how the scores are clusters that is interpreted.

I work at a career school, all potential students take this test before they can enroll. They need a 12 (I think) minimum. The average score is about 18 or 19. Maybe 1 out of 100 get above a 30. Granted, we do not usualy get the best and brightest of the world but from what I have read if you get mid/high 30's you are very above average intelegence. I am not sure how long we have been giving the test (at least 6 years I know for sure) but the highest score ever was a 42 or 43 I believe.
