anybody ever taken apart an HP pavilion desktop case?

I have an older P II Pavillion case that is full tower and I had a hard time getting the front off till I figured out I had to take the top off first. I don't know if yours is made the same but I have to remove the top cover because the front mounts under it, then there are 3 sets of tabs to push in to take the front off. In reality I have to remove both sides and the top just to get the front off.

For a minitower at work I had to search the HP site for a doc showing how to take it apart to get at the memory slots. It was a big pain.

yea i have to take the top off to get to the front panel i can see that. the top panel somehow secures the front panel. the problem is it looks like the top panel slides forward to release from the metal cage. but theres no way it can slide forward until the front panel is gone......... argh

hehe ok after i posted i figured it out. it seemed like a catch-22 so the answer was obviously that you had to take both off at the SAME time. this involves pressing the clips on the front panel and pushing forward on the top panel, AT THE SAME TIME, and then both the front and top panel come off as a single unit. what a pain and somewhat difficult for just one person to do

My guess is they make it hard just because they figure you'll try for 2 hours to get it off, say "Forget it", call HP, pay them 200 dollars installation and shipping both directions, and have them do it for you :|
