I found getting a 22" wide screen a very nice upgrade. Don't think I would want much bigger though.

dont skimp too much money on a monitor, its one of those components that you will be likely using for quite a while. i would go for the 22inch acer, 220 is a very good price for it; i think it has a larger resolution than the 20inch one too. i think the 360 has a vga / dvi port, dont have one personally so i cant tell you for sure, but it should be able to be hooked up directly to the monitor.

Well since TC91 and OP stated that monitors shouldn't be taken lightly, as we really dont upgrade our monitors like video cards and they last a long time, I would assume to get a really good monitor and stick with it till holograms (or some better tech) come out. I would get either the Soyo 24" for $300 or the HP 22" W2207 for $250. I'm dependent on my parents but I still managed to purchase a 22" and I'm so happy with the purchase (upgraded from a 15"). Don't know about the 360 so I cant help you there.

A couple of months ago I went from 20-24" and I'm loving it and don't regret it one bit. You stare at your monitor the entire time you're at your pc so don't skimp and your eyes will thank you.

if he's thinking about saving money by spending under 220 for the 22, why are people suggesting $300 and $420 monitors?

I have 2 19" and 1 22". I like my 22" more but it required me going from an X1900GT to a 3850 512. The 2 19" are driven by a 8800GS Superclocked.
