Anybody ever play Colonization?

I think it's an old game. Maybe a link to where we can download or where we can get it? I like games where I can make "colonies" or anything where I am in charge of building some cool ass stuff.

It's old but not abandonware. However, a little Google searching could probably find it.

Definitely an awesome game. I was always mean and took the gold from the native americans with my cannons.

That's not mean. That's historically accurate reenactment. You should have been getting a subsidy from the US government.

Is that like Civilizations?

Think of it as a raw pre-cursor to civ. The same basic resource mechanism but without having to deal with research. City building the same. More of a focus of moving units from the mainland to your colony. You have to match your unit types (blacksmith, miner, lumberjack) with resources coming out of the colony (steel, iron, trees).

Fun game.

I think I still have it somewhere on floppy disc, it was a fun game. I think it was a Microprose game, they put out some kick a$$ games back in the day.

It actually came after Civ. It was supposedly the "sequel." I liked Colonization better than Civ.
