Anybody ever hear of Vector Marketing Corporation?

Just wondering if anyone has heard of them and/or worked for them before. They market cutlery (knives) and I got a job for them as a sales rep. They say they have a low-key approach to selling but its all bullshit if you ask me. If anyone has any comments, please feel free.

you gotta work door to door or whore out your friends/family. someone i know worked for them a few years ago... i can't remember if it was good/bad/ok.

yea i think im gettin a general consensus. sorry, i should have searched beforehand. feel free to lock this thread if you want. thanks for your responses!

My parents bought some Cutco knives from our neighbor's daughter back in 1989. I don't remember how much they paid, I was only 5 years old. 14 years later though, we still haven't bought another set of knives, and we use the Cutcos every day for dinner knives. Sure, the job might suck, but the product is genuinely high-quality and worth the money.

That is the only time in my life I can say I was truly scammed.

I was invited to Vector along with about 50 other folks (people who called on a newspaper add) and had to listen to this jerk speak...then they pulled a group of maybe 10 of us aside and took us into another room. They told us we were their "brightest candidates" and for $25 bucks (payable immediately) they would give us the honor of being their sales reps. Well when you are sitting there with 9 other teenagers you don't want to be the guy who passes this "great opportunity" so everyone ended up paying. Then they roll out the knives and show us what we will be selling! Yeah. I walked out light by $25 and never looked back. That was about 15 years ago so maybe the details of their method have changed...but it sounds like they are selling the same shiz. Can't believe they made it this long.

Stay away unless you have a lot of suckers in your family and circle of friends!

They don't do that anymore. After the presentation, I think they pretty much hired everyone. Then you had to make a $200 deposit on your demo knives. I bought a set. When I went home, I realized I couldn't do the job. It was too humiliating. So the next day I went and gave them back the knives and got my money back. No hassle. No scam.
