ANybody ever had MONO

I got Mono last week along with strep throat and have been to the dr's and all but from personal experiance what did any of you guys do to help cope with this sickness. I mean im fvckin dying here. I get dilerious so often and sleep like 20 hours a day. My throat kills me and basically i feel like im dying 24hrs a day. I also cant eat much cause most foods just make me nausous.
 
umm yeha i had it over x-mas break... i will list what activites i did.

Had a constant fever
slept on couch
watched tv until i fell asleep again
ate soup
slept

repeat for a month

to cope with it i slept, and just took tylenol etc to keep my fever down. Eventually i went to the doc and he gave me an anti-biotic, since he thought i might have something else with mono. and i got better much faster after that.

I thought I had bad strep, so I went to the doctor.. it was mono.

Waste of 400$. But if you have strep also, it's probably a good thing you went.

There isn't anything you can do. It's a virus. Drink lots of fluids.. and sleep.

It lasts for 2 weeks to 2 months, generally about 4 weeks.

The incubation time is 4-6 weeks IIRC, so.. think back. 😉

The virus is a member of the herpes family. Once you have it, you have it for life, though you're very rarely ever symtomatic again.

Many newborns get it from their mothers at the time of birth. When that happens, they are carriers, but they do not become symtomatic. It's only when you get it when you're a teenager(or older, I suppose) that it wreaks havoc on you.

yea it definitly sux. I try to go to work and feel fine from like 9 - 1 or 2 then i get extremely tired and delirious
 
ahhh sucks dude! check out that thread Savij posted above... it's mine... I thought I had mono too, but I got better, so I think mine was only a severe cold... Did you get a blood test yet? Remember a blood test won't be positive until 1-2 weeks past the day you got the virus... goodluck.
