anybody ever had a birthmark removed?

a female friend of mine wants to look into having her facial birthmark removed, via some laser method (i'm not too sure). looks like it costs around $10k for such procedures. does anybody have any experience or know anybody that had it done? thanks.

No, but if it's on your face then it probably affects you more. Most people have hidden birthmarks so it's no big deal. I've seen some people with half of a green face and I later learned it's a birth mark. Now that is unlucky.

yea its on her face and she covers it up with makeup everyday. i wasn't able to tell until she told me about it. but she wants to look into getting it removed. i wanted to see if anybody know of any side effects and such.

i have one just above my lip and wanted to get it removed, but i just lost my insurance through work, so it looks like i might live with it until i get new insurance. It was causing me problems with bleeding for a week or so too.

My daughter has a couple on her head, but they are under her hair. Never see them unless she shaves her head, which hopefully won't happen

My grandmother had a large port-wine stain (birthmark) on her face and neck. She had it removed probably 10 years ago or so. I don't know any of the specifics, just that she had it done, and didn't have any problems because of it (that I know of).

i've got a 6 inch scar when i had a very large birthmark removed when i was younger (half when i was 3yo, half when i was 5)... risk of cancer considering the size


wish they had the laser when i was younger
