Anybody else work full-time + full time school?

Regs

I work 7:30-4 pm with night class's any where between 6-10pm. 12 credits a semester is technically full time, yet I should be taking at least 15 a semester. This means I will likely have to take an extra two semesters to graduate.

I could try to pull 15 for a few of the semesters, but working 40 hours a week could make study time real difficult.

i did it my last year of highschool. Went to school 7:45am to 2:30pm and worked 3:00pm to 12:00am-3:00am. Burns you out quick

I did for 2 yrs.
I worked in a law firm 8am-5pm. (Mon-Fri)
I went to school 6:30pm-11pm. (Mon-Fri)

Everything was 1hr apart so i spent the rest of the time on the bus/train.
I also had school 9am-4pm Saturdays.

Result: 600% pay increase 2 months after leaving the law firm.

I work nights 10 pm until 6:45 am, class at 8:30 am until 2:30 am. Work every Sat and Sunday too. Oh, and I raise three kids on top of that.

I am one tired momma. 😛

Yes, I work about 35 hours a week and also go to school for 12 units a quarter.

I used to do that, but my job pays my tuition now. They only pay up to 9 hours....so I take what I can get for free....and sleep the rest of the time. 😀

I did for the last two years. I went to school for 14-17 credit hours and worked 32-37 hours so not full time but close enough.

Last Semester

17 credit hours difficult classes
65hrs of work a week (40 were overnight working at target)

never... again...

Every year before that I would usually do 16-18 credits and 30ish hours of work a week

Yeah, I do.

Get up for class @ 8:30am
On campus until 4:00-4:30pm
Get to work by 4:30-4:40pm
Get home from work ~3:00am

I'm tired and my schedule sucks but I need the job and I need to graduate. Sacrifices will be made (sleep time).

48hrs/weekly of work, 16hrs/weekly of in class education, and 12hr clinical/weekly.

Do what you gotta do i guess.

peace

I work 50+ hours a week, but I'm taking correspondence courses at Oklahoma University, so I have flexibility in when I study. I don't think I could do the full-time thing, especially since I can't stand sitting in a classroom.

I work 40 hours a week and take 9 hours right now.

Did 40 hours and 6 hours(equivalent of 12 in regular semester) in 8 weeks over the summer.

Got a bit burned out, mainly b/c my day job takes concentration all day. I work as an underwriter with numbers and claims all day.

For those doing both school and work in large loads, what are the dayjobs you do?

I am thinking about taking 12 in subsequent semesters and just taking one of the Gen Ed requirements pass/fail. That way slack off one, and get a D(PASS) if need be.

Any of you balance a significant other on top of that?
You with the kids, that just boggles my mind.

I go to school full time. And work full time. I've been doing this since mid sophomore year of HIGH SCHOOL. I'm now a junior in college.

Damn lol . 6x your normal pay? Thanks for the incentive.

Yeah. That's a lot of dedication. I'm taking 12 credits per semester equaling an extra year of school to graduate. I'll likely take a few summer class's to cut down the load in the final semesters.

I feel tempted to take a few online courses, but I would be afraid I would not comprehend the information as much as I would being in class.

16 units + 28 hrs of work was the most I ever did and my grades suffered alittle. You really have to decide which is more important (money or grades). I slept very little and I wonder how other people get good grades while working alot of hours
