I've got 5 different credit cards that all have different cash back percentages for different categories - around 2-5% depending on the category and the month. I literally make about 40-80 bucks a month in cash back. I even pay utilities and groceries with credit card

I'll show you my e-peen if you show me yours.

No but seriously, I have something like 20 cards last I checked. You're still at n00b level.

...Until you get robbed.

I have no problem handing someone a piece of plastic that has equity with a bank.
I would love to have someone try to rob me. I'll either fuck someone's day(life) up, or get to die a good death. I'm cool with either scenario.

I only get like 1-2% cash back but it's enough that it covers my snowboarding season pass and then a little bit extra, so I'm OK with it. I've thought about getting into churning, but it just doesn't seem like it's worth the effort.

Baubles. My privacy's worth more than a few dollars. I *spend* money to not have every purchase tied to my name. Hopefully I'll be dead before cash is dead, and every purchase is analyzed by the government and corporations(government=corporations).

I only have 1 credit card, don't see the point of having more than one, but yeah I use it for pretty much every purchase. Figure I may as well get points. I use cash for smaller purchases though like coffee as it's kinda silly to use a card for a $2 purchase. TBH I'm surprised places even accept cards for that because it probably costs them more to run the transaction than what they make from it. I try to keep that in mind if dealing with a small business though and I'll use debit instead.

Come to think of it I should claim my points, never did it yet since I have this card. Can probably get a whole whack of Home Depot cards and put it towards a house project or something.

Actually privacy is one of those things I tend to kind of forget about when doing offline purchases but guess it's a risk too. What kind of privacy issues do CC's have other than the fact that your transaction is logged, do they sell your info? Probably a stupid question to ask given pretty much every company does that now.

Companies who buy this info are also pretty stupid considering it's now available for free on the dark web thanks to Equifax. :p

You can build an interesting profile of people by analyzing their purchases. Maybe it's right, maybe it's wrong, but it's certainly none of their business. If it's wrong, it could get you negative attention that's undeserved. I'm not particularly interesting, and my concern is mostly philosophical, but that's good enough. The only reason I need is cause I don't want to be studied. I don't give a shit about 25¢ off a bottle of seltzer water(store loyalty card), or cash back from some company for telling them everything I buy. I'll work for my money, and they can fuck off. Offer a product/service I'm interested in, at a price I find fair, and we can do business. No abstractions, and no hassle. You give me stuff, I give you money. Straightforward and easy.

Do enough volume and you can make a living from credit card cash back and vendor rebates. 1.5-2% CC cash back and 2% vendor rebates is like $350,000 - $400,000 if you charge $10 million a year.

Oh yeah I don't bother with loyalty cards either. I feel there is a catch, that, and I really don't want to carry 50+ damn cards. It seems everyone has their own loyalty program now.

But yeah I can see what you mean about building a profile. Should experiment with that. Should buy everything with cash, except for potential things that could be used to build a bomb. Would be interesting actually to see if I eventually get a knock on the door... The more police show up at my house the safer I am right? :p

Looks like we earned around ~600,000 miles and points in various travel programs this year. While the not overly not worthy itself we were able to do it and still shrink down under the 5/24 rule. Hopefully that means an easy companion pass re-up come 2019

LOL @ the bolded/underlined parts. There is one of the many reasons you could not find a spouse.

Well, sometimes they don't accept credit cards. The hardware store closest to me has a $5 minimum, so I pull out the cash when that happens.
