Anybody else think the Spanish people missed one glaringly obvious point?

Spain had no problem with Al Queda terrorist before they helped us attack Iraq. So you think that the death of 200 and injury of close to 1500 means that it was good to go to war with Iraq. Like you say, as a parent, is that the message you want to give your kid?

A better message is to send terrorists a thumbs-up on follow-up attacks for political gain?

Do you think Al Queda would have launched an attack against Spain, had Spain not supported the war in Iraq?

What if this escalates more? What if instead of allies that support the war, terrorists start to target other allies of the US? Those who help us financially, hypothetically? Or countries that send us aid, hypothetically? (not that any of them do...) Or those with favored trade status.. large investments in the US, ect.. ect..

Spain's participation in the war was mostly symbolic.. Do you really think we will miss their 1k troops? Um.. hardly.

But Spain stood by us as a good ally, wishy-washy at times, but nonetheless, they showed us more support than we deserved. Obviously, the PM knew the risks involved when he joined the coalition. I don't think it's fair they were attacked, but what I hate more is you advocating that the world turn their collective backs on us out of fear of retribution from the boogey man.

By your logic, Spain shouldn't crack down on all the Al Queda cells operating in their country either, or else it might lead to another attack. They should just leave them alone... Ignore them and hope they go away, or hope they are planning against other countries, not their own.

Don't appease terrorists.
