Anybody else think the game of Risk is lame with more than 2 players?

How do you keep two people from grouping and taking out everybody else. We've had games where it was fun, but they were with a bunch of us who are all tight friends who have no loyalties to anyone else. But we played a game with a group of tight friends and some of those friends' outside friends, and the outside friends refused to attack their friends and made lame excuses like "I didn't consider him a threat" and whatnot. Same thing with anybody whose girlfriend plays.

Maybe all players should be forced to justify their objectives and get each move okay'd by the group as a whole...like a UN or something. Other than that Risk is dope.

um, risk is only lame w/ 2 players.

why would you group up? ive seen it done, but normally you group up, and one dude lets the other do more attacking, and then gets killed himself. that isnt smart playing.

We usually play with six players. There may be short term aliances, but I've never seen two people gang up.

Risk is a great game.

Risk is better with more than 2 players. The alliances and betrayals are what makes the game fun.

Don't play missions. You can win on the first turn. I tried it in a 4 person game and it worked. Then, game 2, my friend went first and won first turn as well.

yeah, cause countries never make alliances in real life.

:disgust:

that's just part of the game. it can often be to your advantage to form an alliance, even if it has nothing to do with friendship. you'd think that instead of whining about it, you'd wake up and realize they have a major tactical advantage over you and you might want to try it yourself.

i haven't played risk like in 15 years, but part of the fun is the alliance that people made. So if anythin, the game is lame with just 2 players.
