Just tried it and again no popups.

I think I have adblocker extension installed - if that makes a difference.

I see no pop-ups in Opera.

SP2 IE I see one.

FF goes berzerk with all these pop-up was blocked warnings.

You should probably note that some of the links on that site are probably NSFW :p

Wrong forum (but hopefully, most of you know that).

None via Opera v 7.54 on any of the links mentioned in this thread. Do realize this is a FF thread, but thought it worth mentioning in case it were a cross-browser issue (beaten by JustAnAverageGuy whilst typing this reply).

Will load FF on a virtual machine at first convience. No mention of which versions of FF users are utilizing in this thread. Might help provide an answer.

I use the Adblock extension. Doesn't stop popups, but does block images and flash animations if you want - selected by hand. Makes AT look a lot cleaner ;)

I've been noticing the same thing. I used to never get popups in Firefox, but for the past week or so the rate has been increasing quickly. I think the spam companies are realizing what a market that Firefox has, so they're writing their popup scripts to work on Firefox.

Expect the rate to increase drastically.

I get them occasionally..packetnews has a tendency to drop one once in a while.

I got one pop under yesterday. Apparently pop-up programmers have figured a way around the blockers. Only way to fix is to disable Javascript.

I read this on Slashdot, seems to be working for me.

Go to Tools --> Options --> Web Features and click on "Advanced" next to "Enable Javascript"; uncheck the top 3 boxes (Move, Raise, Disable); OK --> OK; close & restart Firefox. I haven't seen a pop-up since doing this.

I get the odd popup using firefox. I always seem to get one when going to ebaumsworld.com .. firefox blocks the first popup but misses the second. I'm using FF 1.0 on Linux, I doubt it's a spyware related problem

Yep, just started getting them a day or two ago....going to a website and clicking a link that also has in it to bring up a pop up at that time somehow, bypassing Firefox's built in blocker. Are they seriously that desperate to force pop ups on people that don't want them?

Done... but this makes it seem like the pop up will just be a regular window now... *shrug*

I can't think of any reason how popups can be considered a good advertising method when the only thing they do is to annoy users.

Yep I started getting a few popups here and there just this week/last week using Firefox. It's only a matter of time before all of its holes get found out. Hopefully the Firefox team is quick at getting them filled...

Go to cdfreaks.com, those euro bastards have found a way to code their ads so it by passes FF's pop-up blocker, Adblock too. Safari on Mac OSX took care of it though.

Didn't work. Still getting pop-up from cdfreaks.

I was just about to post the same thing as the OP. I started getting pop ups in Firefox about a week ago and have been getting them several times a day ever since. I thought it was just me and that I must have f-ed up some settings in my browser or something.
