Anybody else running the Hoot to Coast relay?

If so, Good Luck! I'm running in it (stages 8, 20, and 32...20 is the infamous gravel mountain stage), and just wanted to know if any other running folk on AT was going to be there (I figured there's 12,000 runners in it, there's a slim chance :)).

If any runners out there aren't familiar with the Hood to Coast, it's a 200 mile, 12-person relay race from Timberline Lodge (on Mt. Hood) to Seaside (on the Oregon coast). Each person runs 3 approx. 5-mile legs, and most average teams try to do it in less than 24-hours.

Good luck to those who are running it! More info on the relay can be gathered here. If any Portlanders are going to be on the Portland side of Sandy (my first leg), I'll be running from the Cottrell School to Ashley's Resturaunt (running by the Beaverton Nursery, along Brooks road).

Hehe...actually, we won't be going through your neck of the woods, if you still live in Forest Grove. We bypass you to the north (but I still wouldn't put it past you to drive up to St. Helens to run a bunch of runners off the road).

I don't live in FG anymore, but don't you guys head down HWY 26 / HWY 6?

Maybe I'm completely wrong on the route you take, but I've seen Hood to Coast runners out and about in past years. I just don't remember where I saw them...

We do a bit on 26 until we get close to Portland, and then we run through town, and then pretty much avoid the major highways on our way to Seaside (that's why a couple of the legs are on gravel roads). We do a bit on 202 and 30, but that's really all I know (I don't know the highways up there all that well).

There's a course map here.
