I heard one of her songs about a year ago and was mesmerized and now I finally managed to pick up one of her CD's. The one I got is called "La Luna".

She is one of the most beautiful vocal talents I've heard! She has this amazing ability to sing in this beautiful operatic voice and then suddenly switch to a pop sounding voice. Very dramatic and theatrical sounding music.

If you have an eclectic taste in music and can appreciate anything beyond the usual widespread pop-culture genres then you'll enjoy Sarah Brightman.

If you like these artist you'll also like Sara Brightman: Enya, Dido, Kate Bush, Charlotte Church.

She's also a hottie!

Yes I do.
'Eden' is really good too (better than La Luna IMO).
She was on public TV recently and apparently she is retiring from classical music. She is still gonna sing just not that style anymore. If you have a nice Home Theater her DVDs are excellent to watch.

What does that mean exactly? Is she going to become just another pop singer? Personally I think her unique style of blending classical and pop music is what sets her apart from all the rest.

Anyhow, I may have been late in discovering her but I am certainly going to start building a collection of all her music.

I have her La Luna cd and I agree, she is a great talent. Her songs are different from the normal dribble you hear on the radio. I really need to sample some of her other work as well. She sang the same song Dido (sp?) is famous for, and I think did a better job of it.

Dude,
She's gotten chunky lately.

You found her a year ago, but she became famous around 1987 for starring as the original Christine in Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Phantom of the Opera."

Sure helps to land a leading role like Christine when you're sleeping with Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Well she wasn't real specific about what genre she would be progressing towards, but my guess would be more electronic (pop) stuff.
Maybe she will hit the stage again, who knows?

I love her Broadway stuff as well as some of her solo stuff. A few songs get on my nerves though (like Who Wants to Live Forever).

The interpretive dancing on her concert DVD scares me.

Time to say goodbye.... Something.. something..
My mom has that cd and she plays it often these days. I thought I liked it but now I need to get a different cd for my mom to listen to instead of Brightman.
