Anybody else having this problem in NFS:MW?

Every hour or so for a race or two, my compy will slow the framerates from around 30-40 to around 4 or so. incredibly annoying and unplayable. anyone else have that problem?

also, remember the pixelated, bad shadows for farcry and nivdia cards? that's what happens when i turn shadows to low or high. now i just play with it off. turning shadows on to any level except off will cause weird ugly ass rough, pixelated shadows.

my setup is
amd64 2.4ghz
1gb ram
9800pro flashed to xt

all settings to high except aa(2x/medium) and shadows(off). 1024x768.

did you patch it up to 1.3? but it seems to be related to LAN specific issues though.

installed the lastest cats?

if you are using dual-core (didnt say in your post and i cant tell), did you apply both AMD and MS fixes w/ registry fix and manually set the process affinity for "speed.exe"?

maybe try turning off AA...horrible i know, but test it anyways.

cats are 5.10s. i dont think ati realyl does anything mroe for the 9800s in the newer cats.

maybe i should patch it. what would lan issues have to do with my career mode racing though?

i used to paly without aa until i figured i could get away with it and get decent framerates still. same problem then without aa.

it's a newcastle socket754 single core.
