Anybody else having issues with Mavericks?

Funny, no issues on my old arse MacBook Unibody (2008). The older systems are usually the ones that do have the issues.

I personally have no issues on my 2011 27" i7 iMac.... All the apps are opening and closing as they should... And super fast which I might add cause of the SSD.. 😀

I talked to someone that upgraded and got the user's keychain corrupted in some way that email accounts in Mail will not work (...and stored passwords in Safari, among other applications that used the Keychain API). Had to create a new user account on the computer.

My 15" rMBP operating flawlessly on Mavericks. I can't say as I really see any difference between it and ML as far as performance, battery life, or anything other than cosmetics like color tags. Everything is nice and snappy, but then, so was ML.

Still haven't upgraded my signature Hackintosh, I will eventually. No real urgency, as Mavericks adds nothing noticeable that I really care about.

Re: The Air screen

They don't even need to make it retina. They could just make it IPS. I believe the Air is a TN panel which is kinda off-putting for a reasonably high end ultrabook.

Trackpad freezes occasionally. This is a carry over from my install on the air, and although it happens much, much less than it used to it still does happen and it still is quite annoying.

One thing I did notice is in one review it said they were able to play borderlands 2 at full settings @ 2880x1800. This is not the case, or I guess you could, but at least multi-player co-op i was getting maybe 12 fps. This is on the top of the line 15" w/ processor upgrade (2.6Ghz).

It will run it fine at 1920x1200 tho. You need a special program to force the resolution in mavericks which is very stupid. What is the point of having a 15" 2880x1800 screen if it runs at 1440x900??

I really wished they had taken a resolution like 1080p and done 4k. Then pixel doubling would be tolerable. Here i feel like I'm reading a harry potter book (print size)

plex does not work well on my 2010 mac mini , stuttering video playback. Even a clean install did not help. Did downgrade again to SL. No problems on my 2010 MBP

The resolution limitation is not a Mavericks-specific thing. Mountain Lion also has built-in support for retina resolutions only. (1024x640, 1280x800, 1440x900, 1680x1050, and 1920x1200)

Maverick's LaunchPad get worse....swipe left and right not very smooth with transition. 🙁

I have two monitors. I have Mail on one and Safari on the other. Before Mavericks, if I clicked on a link in Mail, it would open the Safari window on the "correct" monitor (the "Safari monitor"). Now, with Mavericks, if I do not already have a Safari window open, when I click on the link in Mail, the Safari window will open on the "Mail monitor". I then have to drag it over to the Safari monitor and have to resize it (the monitors are not identical).

Is there a way to "lock" apps to a particular monitor?

Have you considered doing a fresh install to see if that fixes the problem?

Id appreciate some help here ^, thank you!

Its been ~5 hours since I posted ^^ and I have not gotten a response. ...So again, here are my questions. (especially for those who did not see them in the screenshot in the post above.)

How do I not lose my bookmark icons (or whatever they are called) on a Safari reset? I lose them even if I just clear the history, in Snow Leopard there was a tab for these icons but not in Mavericks. And the only reason I care is because I reset Safari like once a week....yes it is stupid but its something I very often feel the need to do even though I am the only one who touches my Mac. Though on second thought maybe this is a good thing for me because it will eventually teach me to stop with the retarded resets. :hmm: thanks guys !

I have a 2.66Ghz C2D 24" iMac. It ran great with SL. From what I read about Mavericks I thought it was supposed to be leaner and more efficient than SL.

While my iMac is still usable it's noticeably slower with Mavericks. Kind of wish I wouldn't have upgraded now.
