Anybody else having a problem with their A8V and Antec power supply?

I've recently heard that some of antec's older True power supplies have had problems with Abit's AV8 and Msi's neo2 motherboards, and I was wondering if anybody else has had a problem with a true power supply and an Asus A8V. Apparently Antec has offered to replace these power supplies if you're having problems with these motherboards.

I recently got an Asus A8V, and it refuses to post with my Antec True 380s and a 3500+ winchester. It has a correct bios that should support 90nm cpus, and I also have my my ram (which is on their approved list) in the slot Asus recommends. No matter what the voice reporter says "cpu test failed". Now I've heard of quite a few people with the same problem, and I was just wondering what powersupplies you're using.

I also have an older Antec power supply and an A8V. I returned my A8V b/c it wouldn't POST with a dual channel kit, but it would post with a single channel. At the shop, the manager tested it with a dual channel kit and it POSTed fine with a newer PS. Could also be the memory (OCZ 3700EB) or my ATI 9700 AIW, but my guess is that it is the PS.

Im usin pcp&c with my A8V. I have read of this issue though (the true Antec PSU's and the A8V), and will look for it to post to you.

Yea, some of the new s939 boards don't like the sense lines of Antec's older PSU's and will have stability and boot problems. In addition these PSU's had castrated amps on the 12v, so A64's with the newer generation of graphics cards will put them under heavy strain. All new TP models have 6A max more on the 12v (TP430 20A->26A, TP480 22A->28A, TP550 24A->30A)

Talk to Antec, they are sending me the updated TP430 as I write this - I hope it doesn't have any problems with the Neo2 or I'm getting a fortron....its runs minimum 30A on its dual 12v rails.

Well, Duvies 939 neo2 was first OC'ed to 2.6 on an Antec 300 ! (just a PCI video card though) My Abit AV8 is in a true power 380 with a 6800GT, and no problems at all.
