I've loved the looks since the very first photos but I figured it was going to end up either:

A) Horribly butchered and not live up to its concept or
B) Horribly over-priced or
C) Both

However reading stuff like this:

And watching stuff like this:

And then the fact that they managed to keep it to $54,000...

I know there's no way they'll be selling at sticker if it turns out half as good as it sounds like it will be but a guy can dream.

I am really excited to see new light weight, fun cars. I've been looking for a replacement for my Elise, and wanted something just a little more comfy, but still close to the same ride, and have found nada.

I have high hopes for the C4.

I hope the US version doesn't end up with 400lbs of nonsense extras and mufflers. :(

Yeah, no such luck there.

When pushed about the U.S.-spec 4C, Alfa Romeo engineers started quoted all kinds of different changes. Some are due to regulations (side and knee airbags), some to customer tastes (air conditioning, a moveable passenger seat, a radio—things that American car buyers expect for 50 grand. Or 15, for that matter.) Alfa Romeo brand boss Harald Wester smiled and said the weight penalty could perhaps be 100 pounds. But the engineers admitted the U.S. cars could weigh more than 2500 lbs.

It's safe to assume that stuff isn't going to be free either. I'd guess that's at least a few grand worth. At that point, I'd think you'd have to ask why it's a $55k plus car. Both the Cayman and Elise seem to give you more for the money at that point.

Very excited, one of the handful of cars I'd trade in my 911 in for. Odds are I'll end picking one up used at some point.

I think I am more curious to find out just how Alpha and Mazda are working together to produce the next Miata.
