anybody else?

how much have you played with RC2?

i went to a two day seminar last week, it was decent, a guy from atlanta (extremelogic.com) was the leader, not an MS guy

we loaded RC2 onto a test box in the lab to play with, got RIS working , the RIPrep imaging/RIS thing is sorta cool

anybody putting it into production soon?

I've been using RC2 on my home file server for a while. The streaming sever option is quite nice, I've loaded several movies and watch them wireless on my laptop.:)

You wont get a cd key with the CD, you have to go into the msdn subscriber site and click my keys and get your key, or go to the subscriber download section and navigate to Windows 2003 server and get your key there.

yeah, the guy that needs to do that is being a bum, we'll have to keep playing with RC2 until he gets off his butt, so to speak

I went to the MS Launch event for Windows Server 2003 and Visual Studio .NET 2003 on Thursday 4-24-03, and all I can say is wow, this is a nice product. The keynote had some very cool demos of Windows Server 2003. I like the new feature where you can have multiple version of files, so if you accidentally skrew something up and save it, you dcan restore it in like 3 clicks. We got some very nice discounts on MSDN subscriptions, and a nice trial software package. It came with a 180 day trial of Windows Server 2003, and a 60 day trial of Visual Studio .NET 2003. I've been playing with VS.NET 2003, and like it a lot more than 2002. When I get a chance, I will load up Windows Server 2003 and play with that. I'm planning on getting the subscription within a few days. Also, the Developers conference afterwards was nice. The guy showed some nice features in VS.NET 2003. One of the ones I really liked was Dotfuscator. It implemented code obfuscation, so that if someone runs ildasm on your .NET exe, instead of seeing all the function names, etc..., all you see are functions named a, b, c, ..., aa, bb, cc, ..., etc.... It makes it confusing for anyone trying to get your code.

Text can anyone confirm the released build has DirectX in it? (rc2 does not)

I can't confirm it, but from what I've read it doesn't. I read that M$ wants to keep it "slimmed down" or something, for stability.

you don't...unless you're running server instead of pro because you want to use the software raid1 that's in it...and 16bit display terminal server, which 2k server doesn't have

I just tried installing Windows Server 2003 on my computer. Now, the install went fine, I just have one problem. My Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop for Bluetooth wont install on Windows Server 2003. It says that the OS is invalid. Now, MS said Windows XP is a minimum requirement, so should Server 2003 accept it? Any help is appreciated.

I also tried setting the compatibility to Windows XP, and it wants to install Windows XP SP1. I also tried manually installing the driver, and still no go. Anyone have any suggestions?
