My last job, that was very true. But it paid off in the end, because i was such a good worker i got more work and more responsibility (with no pay raise), while they continued to be worthless and get paid the same.

It doesn't normally work that way. Ass-kissing and charisma often over-shadow work quality.

:music:Sad but true ...:music:

I work a 10 1/2 hour shift. I take two restroom breaks, about 3 minutes each, two 10 minute stretch my leg breaks, and a half hour lunch that usually ends up being 20-25 minutes. The rest of the time I'm sitting at my desk, taking a continuous stream of calls. I hang up on one and the next one is already in my ear, no break between them. I don't have time to do anything else. I wish I could find time to do the rest of my job, but I end up doing that after or before work :p

Wow I am sorry. I used to work in a call center, and wow did I despise that type of work. Definitely not my line of work.

If I text and nef all day and still get my job done while you spend all day working on your job and only get the same amount done, what does that say about you?

I don't think it's anyone's line of work. More like they work there as a 'transitional job' or stuck there because they can't do anything else.

Same happened to me, I resigned when I found out the 2 people they hired to work under me was paid more. They tried to counter me to stay but it was too late, I was loyal and I shouldn't have to quit to get what I deserved at the time. Since my departure, they had to hire another 3 people to replace me. But to get back on the subject, I was doing 70% of the work while my group got 70% of the pay.

Consider yourself lucky. Every time I've had coworkers complaining about not having enough work, they eventually got laid off. After all, if they don't have enough work for them, why keep them on staff?

It's just outta' control here at work.

Cell phones buzzin', dinging, friggin' keep thinkin' Tinkerbell's flyin' around or something. Constantly checking texts.........10 minute shits.....(texting, of course)..........come back to desk, check e-mail about a fckin' Dachsund who adopted a little pig & stare at the fckin' thing for 20 minutes.

Smoking break, after smoke, after smoke, after smoke. Constantly getting up to have a smoke.

Us non-smokers?? F$#%! YOU!!!!!!!!

I swear I'm gonna start going out for oxygen breaks. (Work 2 minutes, break for 20 & repeat)

Actually it pays pretty decent, and there's room to move into other deparments so it's not something I'd do forever. The job itself isn't that hard, and I kind of enjoy it, I just don't have any downtime. It's nice having 3 days off in a row though, so I won't complain too much.

What I want to know is why you are not slacking with them if your office is laid back? That certainly beats an office that you feel is way too up tight. I think you are better off letting this one go and choose to complain about something else. While you are at it, count your blessings. Not everyone gets to work at a laid back job like that. ;)
