I'm not sure why I like them so much, but the Food Network Challenges always keep my interest. Maybe I just like seeing what these guys can do with cake/sugar and stuff in such a short time. Anybody else watch?

Watch most of the time. Combination of being fairly interesting and there not being much else on Sunday evenings.

That's kind of how my dad is. What don't you like about them?

They used to be good when they first started. They were interesting. Now, they are all the same.

I like the challenges! I haven't seen one in a long while, though. I think the last one I saw was having to build a bridge. The Golden Gate cake was a disaster!

BTW, Ace of Cakes is one of my favorite shows.

Agreed that it's a very solid show as well.

The challenges are terrible. The on that gets your item on the Friday's menu boggles my mind. The first round is to create the dish that might make the menu. The second round is of equal value, is a speed round, and consists of making some other item that has no chance of making the Friday's menu.

The one episode that I watched had the best overall food item end up not making into the menu because the competitor's 2nd dish item flopped. So gay.

I also used to watch Chopped, but got frustrated that they don't give the chefs a fully stocked kitchen. They ran out of fucking eggs for christ's sake. Giving them mystery items is enough of a challenge, let alone making them compete for ingredients.

Challenge is good when the competitors aren't complete noobs (ie, the sugar and ice crafting people).

I watch the Food Network for infotainment. I don't get useful information nor am I entertained by the challenges.

I enjoy cooking but I can't watch people do it for a half hour. I can watch Giada cause she's so hot, and Alton Brown because he just plain rocks, but the rest... eh. That fat Contessa chick is like watching a trainwreck, that show doesn't go 5 minutes without her slathering 2 sticks of butter on whatever she's cooking. And Rachael Ray is ok (on mute), I kinda like girls thick enough that you aren't afraid you'll break them in half while mackin it to them :D

I don't like the ones where they are just covering some event like the pilsbury chicken cookoff or the bbq ones.

I was watching the food network and thought a Chrysler 300 commercial came on. Turns out it was just Giada smiling.

I used to like Food Network, but I hate those challenges. They're so... specialized I guess. I don't care about cakes, and there usually isn't any good information in them. Food Network is going down hill with stuff like the Iron Chef reality show, the cake reality show, and the numerous Bobby Flay shows.

Give me Good Eats, Original Iron Chef, and maybe throw in a little Unwrapped.

Edit: Oh, and East Meets West, Yan Can Cook, and Justin Wilson should be in the rotation too.

I like watching it, but can't stand that one bitch judge. Yes i know she's a master pastry chef, but does she really have to be bitchy about it?

I dig 'em... I think it's really neat to see what people who are super talented can do.

I like them more than the cooking shows, since all the cooking shows are just recipes that I can't eat.

I'm not a fan of the challeges, I like Iron Chef America, Good Eats, Diners and Dives, Dinner Impossible and most of the Bobby Flay shows (only because I like bobby flay)
