Anybody do web development work on the side?

This exact same question, almost verbatim, was asked on here not more than three days ago. I suggest you find that thread.
 
if you are not a pro whatever you can get. I have seen basic websites that cost $1000 and were just terrible. I have seen top notch sites for not much more than a couple $100.

Obviously those that overcharge hurt and those that undercharge hurt the pro. There are a lot of 12-20 year olds living at home supporting their gaming habits.

I did some web work on the side for $75 to $150 per hour. A lot of the time the customer is the problem. They come to a freelancer expecting $5/6 an hour...

Currently I don't take on 'projects' but won't turn down quick fixes:

I charge a min of $25 if I just stick in my USB drive and come back later once the anti-spy/virus software runs. I do this about once a week. $100 for about 30 mins of work a month.

If I drive to a home $50 min. 1 hour is another $50, which is a great deal here. Usually I pre-screen so if I know it's going to be more that an hour or so I don't go. More often than not, the customer will complain on the bill.

I also do car/house/boat work on the side for about $25-50 an hour depending on the job and hassle, but I like to play with wrenches, wood, and paint esp. if it's a nice day out.
