Anybody dine at Nello's?

I read that earlier this morning and was blown away. I know NYC is a pricey town but how can a place stay in business charging almost $300 for a plate of pasta? Is there a never ending stream of ignorant tourists who don't realize the potential danger of a menu without prices?

I liked the review on yelp where the woman was eating with a friend, they ordered a creme brulee dessert to share and the waiter brought two. They told the waiter they only wanted one but the waiter just stood there and looked at them. So they ate both. $18 a pop.

I've lived in Manhattan for years and this is the first time I've heard of this restaurant. It certainly isn't known for the food because I can probably name the top 20 restaurants in the city off the top of my head. Sounds like it's a scam for tourists.

Which, of course, sucks. It's not a typical New York thing, for sure. Don't know why these guys are still in business because crap like this will get you annihilated in Manhattan.
