Anybody catch Tori Amos just now on PBS?

I have all of her CDs, so I must like her 🙂 didn't know she did a concert for PBS, or was it one of the music shows like Austin City Limits?

If you like Tori Amos, you might also like: Kate Bush, Happy Rhodes, Heather Nova.

Someone else told me to check out Kate Bush, any song suggestions?

The Sensual World:
- "Love and Anger"
- "Rocket's Tail" w/David Gilmour and Trio Bulgarka
- "This Woman's Work"

Hounds Of Love
- "Running Up That Hill"
- "Cloudbusting" -- the video with Donald Sutherland is a classic
- the last 5 tracks, a song cycle about a drowning person

The Dreaming
- "Suspended in Gaffa"

Never For Ever
- "Army Dreamers"
- "Breathing"

. . . if you like these, you'll probably like the rest as well. (ed) except her last: The Red Shoes isn't nearly as good as the others.

And some Happy Rhodes, she was heavily influenced by Kate Bush but is her own person and well worth hearing.

Many Worlds Are Born Tonight
- "Many Worlds Are Born Tonight"
- "Ra is a Busy God"
- "Serenading Genius"

Building The Colossus
- "Just Like Tivoli"
- "Collective Heart"
- "Down Down"

If you like these, Warpaint is another excellent CD. The others are good too, a lot like Lionheart era Kate Bush.

The show was Soundstage. It's basically an hour-long concert series similar to Austin City Limits but with less of a folk/bluegrass emphasis.

PBS has the setlist for the Tori Show at http://www.pbs.org/wttw/soundstage/featured/interview.htm . Maybe my memory is just going but I don't recall her playing Horses or Spring Haze.

Weird...I can't remember everything obviously, but apparently in the set she performed Cornflake Girl 3rd, but that's what they ended the broadcast with. They do such a good job of editing, you'd never guess that it wasn't being broadcast in the same order.

DaveSimmons, I'll check em out, thanks!
