I'm thinking either the Panasonic TC-P50G10 or the Samsung PN50A760. The former is ~1500$ online while the latter is the same price at Costco. I feel more comfortable dealing with costco for TVs than a random Amazon.com marketplace etailer w/ respect to customer support potential issues. Both are great TVs, general consensus seems to lean towards the panasonic.

Has anyone run into terrible customer support for their large TVs with the etailers? Any good etailers that you can trust to be there when something goes bad?

Thanks!

I bought my Pioneer plasma at Vanns.com. Very happy with them. Just ordered a bunch of speakers from them as well.

I bought a 52" Samsung 71 LCD from Amazon for my dad when they first came out. In short, I was very impressed with Amazon's service all the way through the process. I also recommended my friend buy his Samsung 52" 650 LCD from Amazon too. Again, flawless.

The trick is, make sure you are buying it from Amazon, not some other company selling through Amazon.

OK, I see Amazon is selling the G10 and the lowest price isn't from a shady marketplace dealer.

I bought a refurb Vizio from a pretty new site called UncleVic.com and while the TV arrived with a defect (not immediately apparent, it took several minutes of running it for it to appear), they were very helpful and I was able to talk with the same person in customer support the whole time. I ended up dealing with Vizio directly (and they were also quite helpful and communicative), but the people at Uncle Vic were nice and helpful too. It seemed like a smallish outfit in California. I looked them up before I bought and found one thread on SlickDeals with people discussing it, saying that at the time, they weren't even listed as an official Vizio reseller (they actually were, but they were too new to be in Vizio's records at the time).

I ended up saving a pretty large amount of money by buying from them instead of looking for the same model at a B&M. In fact, I'm not sure I'd even have been able to find the same or a similar model from any B&M store. My only real options here in Minnesota are Best Buy and Ultimate Electronics, and they don't generally sell 32" 1080p displays. If they do, there's no guarantee they'd have anything at even close to the price I got.

One of my colleagues bought a 61" Samsung DLP from Newegg. I think he opted for the gold gloves delivery, too. It was delivered fine and without fault.

I bought my 46" samsung from Amazon, and was very impressed. It came to my city on time, delivery guy called me and scheduled a time, and then delivered it right on time. He was very careful handling the tv during setup, and then he hung out for a few minutes while I looked for flaws and dead pixels (there weren't any).

I'd never bought something like a tv online before and was convinced something would go wrong. Turns out it couldn't have gone more smoothly. 10/10 would buy again. Also, amazon was the lowest price available at the time.

$0. I'm telling you they're great. When I bought my TVs, it was white glove treatment for free with free shipping and no tax. What more can you ask for?

Did he have to go 12 rounds with Mike Tyson to get his TV? (j/k)

I think amazon has to be one of the best. I have bought 2 HDTV's from them over the last 4 years and their service has been excellent.

This may sound dumb, but I don't see "white glove" delivery on Amazon's website for the G10. Is this an automatic thing? I haven't gone farther than simply placing the item in my shopping cart to see the price... Thanks!

I thought that was confusing too, but it's automatically applied to tv's larger than 40'.

Also I forgot to mention that there was only one delivery guy, and I went out and helped him carry the tv. You might have to specifically request two people if you're opposed to helping.

I bought from buydig.com with free shipping and couldn't be happier. Their delivery people actually repeatedly turned down a $50 tip. And...because I am in NY state, and buydig.com is in Jersey, I didn't have to pay sales tax, saved me $200.

I bought my 52" Samsung and my parents' 67" Samsung from Amazon. No problems, but we didn't need any tech support either. I bought straight from Amazon, not an independent e-tailer.

I was favorably impressed by their white glove delivery service. Even though Amazon says that the delivery guys only have to unwrap the TV and set it up on the ground floor, they brought it (the 67" LED DLP ~ 100 lbs) up to the second floor.

Dell had what I was looking for so I put them to the test. I talked to a rep by phone, they matched Amazon's price, free shipping, and 12 months no interest. I'll pay the balance off in a couple months and close the account, but it was very nice to have zero out of pocket..

I ordered a lcd tv last year from Amazon and the shipping was awful! Truck showed up and I saw the box just laying on the floor of the truck and was not secured at all. Box was dinged up and even though it was suppose to be a white glove which I think includes unpacking and setup. All he did was drop it off. Luckily TV was OK ..Oh the truck carrier was J&P Hall

Has anyone bought a TV from TigerDirect? They have a 42" Westinghouse Monitor for $600, I am considering buying it, but have never bought from TigerDirect before.
