Anybody been backpacking solo in a foreign country?

Is it fun?

I mean going backpacking by yourself in a country where you can't speak their language. I'm wondering if it's fun at all or boring. I like backpacking, but never did it solo.

I personally haven't.

A couple of my dad's employees took a short leave and went backpacking in Egypt (pre 9/11) for 6 weeks. Upon coming home, they both told me it was the best experience they've ever had by a landslide.

Hmm. Bodes well. I'm travelling to Egypt at the end of the year 🙂
