i just found out that for some weird reason a Promise FastTrack TX2 WILL NOT LOAD with the BOOTABLE WIN2K PRO service pack 1.

U have to use the 4 install floppys for it to accept your FastTrack Driver disk and make the driver stick !!! on bootable cd it will say found driver after u press f6 but not stick with it and say unknown disk.


go figure.

if u have had any experience with your raid array this way plz respond

I get this on most of my newer servers at work. We use U160 RAID controllers and even tho hitting F6 and loading the drivers manually and it say it accepts it, the system will hang or crash unless I install from the boot disks. I dont know why it does that but it does.

Is the crash a Blue Screen of Death? Does this occur after
Windows loads the drivers and reboots, or before?
