no pics yet, but it is black.

i went up there to test drive a 330Ci, and saw the z4 and asked to test drive it instead.. i really liked it.. its about $3,000 more than what I wanted to spend, but its a year newer than the car i was planning to buy, has that much more warranty left, etc...

im googling the car now to find out more about it, but if anybody has any opinions on it, please chime in..

If you want a roadster, get a Boxster S and don't look back :) Just don't go back farther than 2003 because thats the first year they FINALLY included the glass rear window in the convertible top (something even a $10,000 Mustang already had, cracking yellow vinyl is totally inexcusable in a $40,000+ Porsche)

Funny thing I will always remember about the Z4 is in a roadster shootout in a magazine with a Audi TT and Boxster, the Z4 was said to resemble a 'cheap Korean refrigerator'

You can easily get a 2003 Boxster S for 29K.

Personally I prefer the boxster to the Z4 also.

Boxster is nicer looking, Mid engined and a netter handler.

If you're looking at Z4, I'd take a look at Honda S2000. You should be able to find nice used ones for ~ $18-22k.

Just curious, but after having totaled your last car, did you actually check with your insurance agent and see what coverage would be for a 20 something male on a Z4?

3000 a year maybe. my friend pays 2600 a year for a 350z 2006 with a totaled car on his name, 27 years old now.

Grats! Hopefully no regrets since you apparently did your research and had set out for a 330 and got something else you're less familiar with on impulse hehe :p

well, i came home after test driving it and spent all night researching it.. i liked what i read, didnt learn anything new about the body style, some love, some hate... the car had a longer warranty than the 330, was only $3k more (the cost of a repair lol), and I liked how i felt when I drove it..

yea i just hope you dont regret getting a 2 seater convert then a coupe... i guess its all pending on where u live. i know i wont even think of one as my only car in chicago...

I really do like the M coupe... i think its called. the hatch version of that off a z3 platform not the z4. That would be a car i would get if i either move to a place where i can drive it all year round or get a WAY WAY better job then i do now to justify maybe a company car/ a nice 2nd car...

They are much better car than most people think they are.
But apparently, they aren't selling that well in the U.S, and I read somewhere that BMW are offering incentives to the dealership on the 2007 models starting August 1st.
They are like $5000 on the 3.0i & M, and $6500 on the 3.0si models.
I guess it is possible to find a new one for low $30k.

Boxster is too feminine looking IMO, especially with that center exhaust ;). I'd rather get a Z4. It looks like a penis on wheels.
