I'll be going off to Europe for about a month and would like to know if these things really give you any decent discounts.
 
I had an ISIC (International Student Identification Card) that was required by STA Travel to use the student rates. I was promised amazing discounts everywhere.

Never got a single damn one the entire 5 months in was in Europe.

Yep. For proof of age (<26) just use your passport. Although the card you are talking about might be slightly different, but I think both are pretty useless.
