If you can't find it on xbox-scene it doesn't exist.

The problem with Xbox scene is that there is no one precise article. You usually have to read tons and tons before you can figure anything out.

And on a side note, have any softmods been perfected to the status of not needing a bios chip anymore?

I'd say so. The Xbox-HQ guys have put together a great softmod setup that allows you to softmod your XBox and still be able to play on Live.

What is a bios chip? I modded my xbox to install XBMC (xbox media center) purely with softmods. I replaced the hard drive without any problems and my xbox is running perfectly. No soldering and no chips. There are tutorials out there. I can dig some up but I'm about to go to bed. PM me if you're interested, though many out there know better than me.
