Any Word on the Venice?

I preordered mine from ncix and the latest word from them is they guesstimate it will be the end of the month. They also stated that it's a matter of amd exhausting it's winchester supply first. 🙁
As a side note he also hinted that we may see dual amd core cpus sooner than we think.

That would be sweeet!!! On both fronts so I can the dual core opterons as well..

Wonderful, a release date that's not really a release date. My mobo and processor are the only parts left for my build. If April 4th was in fact the release date, they should have had product to ship out.

I have to agree here.....though early on I thought this is how it would go...I thought they were not even going to packae it differently on anything, it would be luck of the draw from a retailer to pull it. I would rather pay a premium (slight considering there is not real difference in performance (non OC)) then risk not getting one altogether...

If they go that route and dual core desktops hit the shelves close...I will likely be skippy this whole venice incarnation...

April 4th was NOT a release date for end users. It was an expected SHIP date to distributors. They should be showing up at the latest in the next 2 weeks.

It doesn't take this fvcking long to ship anywhere in the world and back again like 4 times....

I've got to agree that 4Apr should mean availability by the end of the week. But from a business side, demand for the older processors would drop significantly if Venice were to hit stores now. Better to reduce inventory, and then release it.

well i reduced their inventory by one winnie, just trying to help out, lol. i couldn't wait any longer so i'll get a venice when it comes and see if there are any newer bios tweaks, etc. i'll just sell this or use it on another rig.

They could have been doing that for weeks already...With some of the price fluctuations I thought they had been doing this for the last few month at certain etailers....You actually need to drop the prices to move them...stupid monarch!!!
