Any word on the next model to replace the HP 4250 laserjet?

Hello,

My printer is acting up (4050) and am considering upgrading to a 4250. I think that model has been out for about 2 years which I think HP typically replaces their models about every 2 years. Before I invested any money, I thought I'd see if there was a 4450 or some such thing coming soon or if there was any info released on the next model. I don't consider the 4350 the next model since it is basically a tweaked 4250.

Thanks

I will probably be ordering a new printer by tomorrow - does anyone have any info on this?

Thanks

Boe,

Any reason you don't like HP 4250 printers? they are good printers,

My HP rep is supposed to let me know when new printers are coming out and he has not said anything about a new printer replacing HP 4250. I'm thinking HP 4250's have been out for only about a year, I wouldn't expect a replacement (unless they find something wrong with 4250s) for at least another year.

I actually like our 4250s (we have about 20 of them). They are fast and so far no major problems.

How much printing are you going to be doing? have you thought about other printers? does it have to be an HP printer? I know Kyocera makes a nice little 3830 printer, thought I'm thinking they are more expensive (we have 3 of them). Dell even makes an ok printer (its really a lexmark, and I?m not very fond of lexmark printers).

Let me know... I'll suggest other printers if you want.

With out all the extra paper trays and stuff they are smaller then an HP 4250 (or at least very close to the same size)

Oh, one last thing... if you like your 4050 you can get it fixed (or fix it your self!) They seem to last forever!!! (we have about 50 of them, some have had to have the paper pick assy replaced... other then that nothing major).

Thanks - actually I'm pretty sure they have been out for nearly 2 years now so I hate buying a model when a new model is on the way to replace it.

Are you thinking of the HP 4200? they have been out for some time (2 years?)... 4250 is not much different, different toner, part number.... Look almost exactly the same :) HP 4200 printers seem to be good also.

If I remember correctly.... we tried to buy some 4200s about 6 moths ago, only to be told they have been replaced by the 4250... good news... 4250s are much cheaper, faster then the 4200s.
