Any word on centrino linux support? Also does dell's wireless minipci card have linux drivers?

I'm almost ready to get a laptop (although I'm trying to hold off til fall), and I definitely need to dual boot xp and linux. All my coursework at school is on a unix machine, and I'm tired of running putty or some other ssh client just to get log onto a bogged down server just to write code for classes. I also want a stable machine I won't keep dicking with (like my home pc) so I always have something to work on. My only question is whether or not intel will come out with linux drivers for their wireless cards (even though I'm sure SOMEONE will eventually), or if I end up going with Dell's trimode minipci card, do they have linux drivers for it? I heard it's a orinoco gold card, which there are drivers for, but I wasn't sure if anyone had success with this. I want the new latitude so I can get the notebook stand with port replicator, but may get an inspiron since it's cheaper.

Thanks.
