Any word on a price drop for the XBOX 360?

Buy a used premium. I know several people are unloading them at great prices so they can upgrade to the Elite.

yeah don't expect one till the holiday season. There will be something bad wrong if they don't. Instead of releasing a upgraded higher priced 360 they should have dropped the price on the premium. It will be 2 years this Nov since launch so surely they will have a price cut around that time.

I remember Xbox had a price cut around this time in 2003(was it?).

They will be redesigning the 360 later this year to use a new 65nm CPU (vs 90nm) and if it's ready a new 65nm GPU too.

Both will be cheaper to produce, but also run cooler and draw less power. There is a very good chance that it will be cheaper and more reliable.

No ETA yet, probably not until close to the holidays. They might drop the price on the old one just before then to dump stock though.

I don't think they will lower the price of the elite till at least the holidays...it just came out. But if you were to get a used 360 you could get a pretty good deal from someone. I did that nearly a year ago and got a great deal.

They don't need to drop the price... Sony did that for them.
