They have video card shootouts all the time. Is there a PCMCIA wireless card shootout that anyone knows of? I would like to get one with a good stock range (no add on antennas).

Thanks!

Well, it's like a wired NIC. Every card is pretty much like the others. I've got a Belkin that I picked up during the half off refurbished deal recently, and it works perfectly.

Whoa.... I work with a Spanish dude named Hender.... kinda weird. Anyways..... do any of them get better reception with the stock antenna? I seen that some have the X-Jacks antenna that pops out the side.

People have recommended Orinocco Gold/Silver cards... I don't use one myself but I assume from the postive posts about them, that they are good.

Orinocco is good from the ones i have seen, linksys seems excelent from my own use, don't bother w/ dlink, and cisco is supposed to be the best from the stuff i have read... but they are cost prohibitive and in my opinion aren't worth it...

Mista, the ones i used worked well too if you were within 10 feet of the access point... replaced it w/ a linksys and i could go around the whole house w/o a prob...

i have used orinoco and cisco. the cisco are great and cost a little more but not much. they put out more power which helps with reception and range.
the orinoco are excellent as well. i usuallly reccomend orinoco to people
