Any WinME/scanner issues ?

I recently upgraded fro win98SE to ME and had no problems installing my scsi scanner's drivers. I then did a clean install of ME and I get install these drivers. The winsetup exe just errors out and the application stops after about 30% installed. Are there any known issues here?

I also don't like the restore function because it's starting to bloat my C:\win partition. Can this be disabled or set up to empty itself after a predetermined time?

I also find it's not quite as snappy as win98SE, especially in explorer and "open with".....
 
^.........anyone? I'm still undecided about ME. There is stuff I like, stuff I don't like. What is the general consensus for WinME?
