I'm an intern at the tech support department of a large cancer and AIDS research facility and we ran into this odd problem with a Windows 98SE machine. We'll eventually call in some heavy hitter tech guys but it would be nice to save everyone time and figure it out now.
The research machine is in an AIDS containment research facility (the kind where you need to wear a suit) and they want it set up so they can access the hard drive from outside the containment suite. Ok fine, I'll just right click on the hard drive and enable sharing. Oh wait there are no sharing options. Ok I'll just go into Network in the Control Panel and click on the File and Print Sharing button. Oh wait that's not there either.
Any ideas of why these usually standard 98SE sharing options are absent? I can connect to outside computers and view files on outside computers but when trying to configure the system to allow users to access it on the network there's no luck.
Any ideas? Thanks!
